Backyard Solutions

I'm pretty excited to have my work featured on the current cover of Backyard Solutions!

Several more of my gardens are featured inside this issue as well. It's nice recognition, and nice confirmation that some other folks think my "babies" are beautiful, too.

Congratulations!

It will be interesting to go back after ~5 years and see how your designs have filled out!

Hi John, I recently found your blog and love it. Congrats on the magazine spread. I have been admiring the cover spread. Can you tell us what plants those are?

Thanks!

Thank you, Chookie! This one has been in for a few years now, and is maturing beautifully.

GirlBlue, anything for people who love my blog. Those plants are, from smallest to tallest: Heuchera 'Palace Purple'; Hakonechloa macra 'Aureola'; Gardenia veitchii; Anemone x 'Honorine Jobert'; Hydrangea quercifolia 'Pee Wee'; and Himalayacalamus hookerianus.
